The Head of Office of AICS Khartoum paid a visit to Kassala to monitor the ongoing projects with UNIDO - United Nations Industrial Development Organization, UNDP, UNOPS and the European Union in Sudan الاتحاد الاوربي في السودان
In the framework of the Kassala Health Citadel project - worth of 16.850 Meuro - @UNOPS and @UNDP are working for the rehabilitation of the Saudi Maternity Hospital, the Blood Bank and the Diagnostic Center through funds of the Italian Agency for Development Cooperation and the European Union in Sudan الاتحاد الاوربي في السودان
During the visit, the hed of AICS Khartoum visited the cold-storage facility for horticultural products, together with a local cooperative ( Alikhaa Cooperative) - realised by UNIDO - United Nations Industrial Development Organization: the storage allows approx. 500 farmers to increase the shelf-life of crops like mangoes, onions and tomatoes and to obtain higher prices for crops in the high season.
