The inauguration ceremony for the rehabilitation works of the shelter managed by the Calcutta Sister in Khartoum took place in the presence of the Italian Ambassador Fabrizio lobasso and the head of the Italian Agency for Development Cooperation Office in Khartoum Vincenzo Racalbuto.
The civil works foreseen the rehabilitation of the veranda, the kitchen and the storage room as well as the installment of a roof isolation system for the benefit of 25 orphans’ children aged between 8 months and 8 years, migrants and IPDs women hosted in the structure.
The works have been realized in the framework of the Humanitarian Programme aimed at strengthening the living conditions of the most vulnerable communities through the supply of basic services and through interventions aimed at fighting against malnutrition for children under 5 years and pregnant women.
Italy is committed with 7.6 MEuro in Humanitarian Programme aimed at boosting the wellbeing of the Sudanese population though interventions in accordance with the 2030 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) agenda.
Though humanitarian programme, the Italian Agency for Development Cooperation promotes interventions aimed at supporting the most vulnerable population in different areas of Khartoum thought the rehabilitation of well, the distribution of school meals, the furniture of hygiene and medical equipment. AICS commitment is coherent with the Italian Cooperation role in the triple Nexus aimed at liking humanitarian, development ad peace actions.
