CAR: AICS has delivered urgent medicines and medical products to the Center for Research and Struggle against Depranocytosis

As part of the project AID 10894 aimed at supporting health system, agriculture and food Ssfety and education of the vulnerable population in CAR, a supply of urgent medicines and medical products was delivered to the Center for Research and Struggle against Depranocytosis. Depranocytosis is a disease affectiong approximatly 2% of the population and only in the capital Bangui around 30,000 people are potentially affected by the disease. This center is the only one present throughout the country and it was opened in July 2018. With today's intervention the Agency has guaranteed coverage of drugs for at least a quater and will ensure the continuity of the care offered.

* chronic anemia that occurs in individuals (as those of African or Mediterranean descent) that is characterized by destruction of red blood cells and by episodic blocking of blood vessels which causes the serious complications of the disease (as organ failure)
