Starting of trainings at the paediatric hospital in Gezira organized by the University of Pescara / Chieti and AICS

The mission of the Italian medical and nursing team took place from February 12^th to 28^th at the Paediatric Hospital of Gezira as part of the project - funded by AICS - aimed at improving standards of care and assistance in the National Center for Paediatric Surgery of Gezira. The project intends to contribute to the improvement of health care in the geographical area related to the State of Gezira, with particular reference to paediatric surgery and training of health personnel for this purpose.
The mission started on-the-job-training for:
• Treatment of anorectal malformations, surgery and post-operative care;
• Treatment of Hirshsprung disease, surgery and post-operative care;
• Treatment of complex estrofric bladder, surgery and post-operative care;
• Treatment of hypospadias, surgery and post-operative care;
• Treatment of Malformative uropathies;
• Treatment of Labio Palatoschisi;
• Anesthesia assistance;
• Nursing assistance especially in critical areas.

The mission was also an opportunity to deliver 70 sheets for the first aid beds (10) and the ward (20).
