Participation in the 6th edition of Week of Culture, organized by the Comboni College in Khartoum

The AICS office in Khartoum participated in the 6th edition of the week of culture organized by Comboni College dedicated to the theme of Education and Sustainable Development Goals, giving particular emphasis to the role played by the Italian Cooperation in the field of economic development, combating poverty and social inclusion (especially minors and disabled persons), in line with the SDGs and the requests of local counterparts.
In the economic development sector, AICS Khartoum aims to divulge an intervention approach for sustainable agriculture over time, mainly through: training activities; revolving funds methodology (reinvestment capital); maintenance of production inputs; development of quality and variety of agricultural production to guarantee a nutritionally balanced diet and last but not least, female empowerment in agriculture. These aspects are in line with SDG 1, 2, 3 and 8 and with Policy Guidelines on gender equality and women's empowerment.
In the field of human development, Italy has been working for a long time to promote the inclusion of the most marginalized sections of the population, in particular disabled persons, playing a propulsive role since, according to our approach, disability must be considered a natural condition to be approached inclusively in line with our Policy Guidelines on Disability and Social Inclusion and with SDG 4, 5 and 8.
In Sudan, the Italian Cooperation manages 6,7 Million Euros in initiatives that aim to strengthen the inclusion of vulnerable groups, gender equality and empowerment, while strengthening the capacities and skills of the Sudanese public administrations.
