Sustainable Development Festival 2021

Architecture, quality, comfort and accessibility in emergency context are the pillars of the webinar organized by Aics Khartoum in partnership with the Italian Embassy, Polytechnic School of Milan, University of Camerino, UNDP Sudan and Khartoum University, Faculty of Architecture in the framework of the Sustainable Development Festival 2021

The event will tackle innovative professional techniques to be able to face the challenges of inclusive, sustainable urban development and seize the opportunities offered by transformations of the social contexts involving the communities through a participatory approach.

The webinar will focus in particular on the innovative building methods in emergency and most vulnerable contexts so as to guarantee sustainability - both in building and maintenance process – of the living environment.

A special emphasis will be given to the “upcycling” process aimed at reusing materials in a sustainable way in order to sustain the so called circular process.
