The operating block at the Teaching Hospital in Port Sudan has been inaugurated.
The new block has three rooms, a delivery room with 3 beds and a labor room with 8 beds. The intervention has been implemented by OSC AISPO, present in Sudan since 2017, and funded by the Italian Agency for Development Cooperation. The hospital hosts about 30 daily deliveries.
The day ended at the Dem Mayo health center built as part of the EU funded project aimed at supporting refugees, migrants and host communities. AISPO took care of the rehabilitation and equipment of the center and provided training to the staff on the prevention of breast and cervical cancer
The center has catching area of around 5,000 people.
